Chiropractor in Beaverton : Dr. Bill Breitenstein

As an experienced chiropractor in Beaverton it is my purpose in life to assist as many people as possible to alleviate pain, regain and optimize their spinal health.

Chiropractor in Beaverton, Dr. Bill Breitenstein

I was born and raised in the Clackamas / Milwaukie area of Oregon. I was raised by parents who believed strongly in the value of exercise and a healthy, balanced diet in the maintenance of optimal health. My parents supported my interests in water and snow skiing and I wrestled to a state championship in high school and followed my wrestling mentors to Portland State University (PSU).

In the 1970’s, I continued wrestling and began taking the necessary coursework at Portland State University to prepare myself to enter dental school. Through a student friend I learned of the chiropractic perspective, including the importance of the integrity of the spine and nervous system and how influential this is on one’s health. When I realized that the practice and philosophy of chiropractic perfectly fit my interest in relieving others pain as well as for optimizing health it was then that I decided to become a chiropractor.

Chiropractic Education

I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 1976 and in the fall of 1977, I entered Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC). The doctoral science curriculum was challenging and interesting, yet more exciting was participating in after school and weekend seminars where I was able to learn and witness the benefits of chiropractic care by doctors of chiropractic who were my mentors in the chiropractic field.

Attending classes on weekends at Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin with chiropractic leader, Dr. C.S. Gonstead taught me an effective treatment technique that provided fast patient recovery and optimization of function and performance. Learning directly from this chiropractic “guru” created tremendous enthusiasm and excitement for chiropractic in me which continues to this day.

My Life's Purpose

It is my purpose in life to assist as many people as possible to alleviate pain, regain and optimize their spinal health. In our Beaverton chiropractic office, it is my primary goal to educate patients about the importance of the health of spinal integrity on their overall health and to provide a professional, warm, friendly environment in which they pursue their health goals. Helping my patient’s resolve their pain and regain their health through chiropractic care is deeply fulfilling to me.

My Family

wife of chiropractor

I met my wife, Maggie in a statistics class at PSU in 1975 and we were married during my first year at WSCC in 1977. We have two sons together and have a menagerie of animal companions. Maggie was the Office Manager of my clinic during my first 6 years of practice and then went to graduate school to become a psychotherapist. She runs her private practice Creating Possibilities at our Greenway Chiropractic Clinic, and is my Office Manager and bookkeeper. Maggie is an integral part of my practice.

Married 34 years, I value my family, and enjoy water and snow sports in the great outdoors of my native state of Oregon. I am also ecstatic about the recent addition of my first grandchild! My intense interest in wrestling from my high school and college days has now been replaced with an intense interest and enjoyment in the practice of Jui Jitsu.

Enough about me! I look forward to meeting you in person so that I can help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care.
